To tell you the truth, we don’t blame you if you rolled your eyes at the title of this blog post. The best? Isn’t that a little arrogant? Well, it would be if it was only us who gave ourselves that label. In that case, it might even be downright delusional. But we’re confident that we’ve earned the title of the best dumpster rental service in Bucks County not because we’ve bestowed it upon ourselves, but because we hear it time and again in our customer feedback: “You guys are the best!” We humbly accept the honor.

We know you’re excited about all the possibilities offered by your newly rented Trash Daddy, but don’t get too excited just yet—read this blog first. We’re certainly not here to kill your buzz: there’s plenty of great stuff you can safely chuck in a dumpster, like dirt, plywood and tree branches (and who doesn’t enjoy the satisfaction that comes from crumbling a bunch of drywall into a dumpster?). However, the possibilities are not endless. Some things are too hazardous to be carelessly tossed into any old container, and need to be disposed of according to community and environmental guidelines. This blog post isn’t a full list of those items, but we’d like to review the ones that are commonly thought to be safe for dumpsters. Keep your Trash Daddy happy (and your community safe) by disposing of these items by alternate methods. Paint House paint is so commonplace that you might think it’s all right to throw it in a dumpster. However, you’d be very, very wrong. House paint is highly flammable, and unless you plan on using your Trash Daddy as a funeral pyre (please don’t do that), you should never put any type of paint besides completely dried latex paint cans in the container. Other flammables that should never get tossed in a dumpster include aerosol cans, solvents, propane tanks and motor oil. Instead, call your local recycling facility to guide you through proper disposal protocol. Batteries They’re so small—how can batteries be that harmful? You can thank the pH scale for that. Batteries contain corrosive acids that can leak out into the rest of the waste in the dumpster. The accumulation of battery acid can heighten the risk of fire or leak into groundwater. Unappetizing, no? Your municipal waste management facility can help you dispose of batteries safely. Computers We like heavy metal from time to time, but not when it’s in a dumpster. Computers and several other common electronic devices contain heavy metals like lead and copper that are potentially hazardous when not disposed of properly. Also not good for your Trash Daddy: monitors, televisions, printers, radios, cell phones and microwaves. Animals We feel that this is self-explanatory. Remember to check out our website for full list of items your Trash Daddy doesn’t take so well to. If you have questions, give us a call at 215-369-8000.
